Again, I find myself behind in keeping up posts about books I've read this summer. I finished Christina Baker Kline's Orphan Train a few weeks ago. I could NOT put this book down. I went to bed on a Friday reading it, and woke up the following morning to finish it. At first, I was interested in Molly's character; however, I was drawn to Vivian and her struggle. It is unimaginable that this took place between 1854-1929. The idea of orphan trains sounds like an opportunity, but the harsh reality for these children is hard to bear. It was their last option. Find the story of Vivian and Molly, how two unlikely characters intertwine their lives. |
